Our Mission
Lotus Culture Ltd. was founded in July 2010. Its founding members and directors are Sylvia Lee, Lee Pak Kheng, and Woon Lai Har. It is a company limited by guarantee, incorporated in accordance with the Company Act in Singapore. Its registered address is 108 Cairnhill Road, Singapore 229698 and its business registration number is UEN 201015087C.
Lotus Culture’s value add is to leverage on the corporate skills and fundraising capability of its founding members and their networks, to enhance the market value of the survivors’ skills by creating employment opportunities where products made will be sold into higher value markets in South East Asia through business to business (B2B) arrangements.
Donations will be remitted to the beneficiaries, upon due review by Lotus Culture of the detailed expenditure provided. Some of the donations may be expensed in Singapore for furthering the projects undertaken. Non-project related costs include foreign exchange, bank charges and Lotus Culture statutory or regulatory compliance charges which donations would also cover. This is presently estimated to be no more than 5%. As such a significant percentage of the donations will reach the beneficiaries.
The directors do not receive any remuneration. Other than time and expertise, they donate all travelling, networking, communication material and office expenses to further the mission of Lotus Culture. Volunteers with special skills donate their expertise and all volunteers are responsible for their own expenses.
